Fine Line Announces Final Exhibit of Season

A collection of new artists and longtime favorites come together for Fine Line Designs Gallery’s final exhibit of the 2016 season. Exhibit IV, which features the work of oil painter Lori Beringer, woodworker Dave Turner, oil painter Hal Koenig and mixed media artist David Sear, kicks off on Aug. 4 with an artist reception from 4 to 7 pm.

For this year’s exhibit, Beringer says that her subject matter will be heavily including her small granddaughters. She says that the joy and pleasure she’s experiencing with her family has brought a new depth of emotion to her work.

A lifelong resident of southern Wisconsin, Turner has long enjoyed working with wood. After coming across a fellow turner who had dyed his pieces using a special technique he developed, Turner set out to do the same. Now, he’s hooked on coloring his pieces by using alcohol-based dyes.

With his home in the Bay View neighborhood of Milwaukee and a gallery owner in the city’s Third Ward, Koenig is a painter of urban and natural landscapes alike. The interplay of the urban environment and the natural world is his primary artistic inspiration.

When Sear thinks about his artistic output over the past 20 years, he’s certain that a majority of it has involved landscape work. “Three primary areas have developed as a result: riverscapes, agricultural landscapes, and industrial scenes,” he says.

Exhibit IV will be on display through Sept. 9. For more information, visit finelinedesignsgallery.com or call 920.854.4343.
