Fine Line Opens May 6, First Exhibit Starts May 27

“The Lake is Calling” by Beth Bathe.

Fine Line Designs Gallery & Sculpture Garden will open May 6 for the 2022 season, when its hours will be Monday-Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm, and Sunday, 10 am – 4 pm. The gallery (finelinedesignsgallery.com) at 10376 Hwy 42 in Sister Bay is welcoming several new artists for the 2022 season.

Oil painter Aaron Kloss derives inspiration from the area around his home in Duluth, Minnesota, for his vivid contemporary landscapes. Oil painter Jane Foley Ferraro finds emotion and mood in abstracted landscapes and seascapes through the sensitive use of color and texture. Watercolor painter Mike Kratochwill paints through the lens of climate change, seeking to expose viewers to detailed ecosystems. Josh Rodine’s home in southern Oregon inspires his glass bottles and sculptures, and jewelry artist Sarah Richardson has shown her work at Fish Creek’s J. Jeffrey Taylor. Beth Bathe is a plein air oil painter who’s also a participating artist in the Door County Plein Air Festival.

The first exhibit, opening May 27, will feature the work of oil painters Kathleen Eaton and Sherri Thomas, fiber artist Martha Fieber and mixed-media artist Patty Carmody Smith. The reception for Exhibit I will be held May 28, 4-6:30 pm, with all of the artists attending.

Carmody Smith will also hold an artist demonstration May 29, 11 am – 1 pm, when she’ll explain how the frameworks for her sculptures are made and demonstrate how she uses air-drying materials to create the surfaces.
