Five-County Art

The Miller Art Museum opens its doors September 20 to the 39th Juried Annual Exhibition, a competition among two-dimensional artists from the local five-county area (Door, Brown, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Oconto). A public reception is set for Sept. 20 from 5 – 6:30 pm with seven cash awards announced at 5:30.

Visitors will view 47 selected paintings, photographs, pastels, drawings and mixed media works created by 41 artists. A review of the exhibition by Sister Bay artist and teacher Craig Blietz will take place on Oct. 9 at 10:30 am. This year 148 entries by 86 artists were reviewed. About 20 percent of this year’s selected artists will participate in the Miller’s juried exhibit for the first time. This year’s jurors are Lori Beringer, James Cagle and Beth A. Zinsli.

Door County artists in this exhibit are Jennifer Aldrich, Heidi Atanasov, Sarah Bradley, Donna Brown, Dennis Connolly, Dan Cross, Deborah Dendler, Karen Lee DeNoto, Marty Gerber, Richard A. Geudtner, Lynn Gilchrist, Roxanne Hanney, Elizabeth J. Heller, Thomas J. Jordan, Jim Leatham, Mitch Leavitt, Steven Monske, Michael Nitsch, Jeff J. Olson, Will Roberts, Mac Schueppert, Madonna Siles, Arlene Stanger, Steven W. Stanger, Hermke Timm, Shirley Williams, Archelle “Buttons” Wolst, and Armando Zeledَn.

This exhibit continues through November 4. The museum is located within the Door County Library at 107 S. Fourth Avenue, Sturgeon Bay.
