Free Workshops about Affordable Care Act Changes at Door County Medical Center

Following recent news of changes in insurance options for those insured through the Affordable Care Act, Door County Medical Center announced a new series of free workshops for community members needing to renew or begin coverage. For insurance starting Jan. 1, 2017, people must select a health plan by Dec. 15.

DCMC’s Certified Enrollment Counselors will be available at three upcoming dates to help individuals through the process of enrollment. “Anyone ensured through healthcare.gov needs to enroll again for 2017,” said Kelli Clark, manager of patient financial services. “Our specially trained counselors are here to help people understand their options and complete the process, and make sure they apply for any tax credits they may be eligible for.”

Door County Medical Center is in network for Molina Healthcare of Wisconsin, one of the three health plans offered in the area. “We are proud to partner with Molina to offer coverage that has been highly rated by participants, and is also the most affordable health care insurance product in our local market,” said Clark.

Individuals can enroll on their own through the government website, but Clark says many people appreciate the individualized counseling provided by DCMC.

Upcoming enrollment workshops are scheduled for Nov. 11, Dec. 12 and Jan. 9, all from 1 to 6 pm, at DCMC’s Sturgeon Bay location. Individual appointments are also available. For more information call 920.746.3775.
