Grease is the Word

Sevastopol students in grades 6 – 12 will revive the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis Presley as they present Grease on Nov. 2 and 3. Audiences will be brought back to Rydell High School in 1959 to see one of the world’s most popular musicals.

The Burger Palace Boys and the Pink Ladies will navigate teenage life and the complexities of friendship and love in a high-energy, foot-stomping fashion. Danny, played by Isaiah Spetz, leads the Burger Palace Boys and Rizzo, played by Dominique Bowers, leads the Pink Ladies.

The additional Burger Boys are portrayed by Dylan Thornton (Kenickie), Bennett Rabach (Doody), Michael David (Roger), Dominic DiCarlo (Sonny), and Matt Gosser (Tony).

Portraying additional Pink Ladies are Megan Reeves (Jan), Maggie Behme (Marty), Jemma Benton (Frenchy), and Jessica Emerick (Kathy).

Additional roles include Teen Angel by Dominic DiCarlo, Ms. Lynch by Rustom Engineer, Eugene by Vlad Evensen, Johnny Casino by Riley Luckett, Vince Fontaine by Sean Moss, Patty Simcox by Madi Jilot, and Cha Cha by Jessica Emerick.

Claire Morkin, professional actress and member of Third Avenue Playhouse’s Educational Outreach Program, and Cheryl Pfister, Sevastopol choral director, will direct with choreography from Sevastopol alum, Hilary Mueller.

Sevastopol will present the ‘school’ version of the musical that eliminates swearing and uses of and references to cigarettes and alcohol.

Performance times are Nov. 2 at 7 pm, and Nov. 3 at 2 pm and 7 pm. Tickets are $5 for students/children and $10 for adults.
