Green Drinks at Glas Coffeehouse

Green Drinks, a cooperatively sponsored event by Glas Coffeehouse and Sustain Door, held their first meeting on Wednesday, January 27. Green Drinks will continue with a regular monthly social/salon style meeting to discuss sustainability-related issues at an informal gathering.

“Green Drinks is a program designed to meet the intellectual and social needs of Door County residents and visitors who yearn to discuss important issues about our local economy, our environment, and our social condition within the larger context of sustainability,” said Ann Hippensteel a volunteer with Sustain Door.

Participants are encouraged to bring a discussion question to pose at future Green Drinks meetings scheduled for Tuesday, February 23, Wednesday, March 24, Tuesday, April 27 and Wednesday, May 26. The open-format meetings are for anyone who is concerned about local living economy, environmental preservation, social justice, community building and other green topics.

“We are excited to be hosting Green Drinks at Glas,” said Meghan Riordan, manager of Glas. “We strive to find new ways for the coffeehouse to be green so this is a perfect match for us. Sustain Door looks at the bigger picture of eco-friendly efforts, so it goes hand-in-hand with our mission at Glas.”

Glas is located at 67 East Maple St., Sturgeon Bay. For more information visit: http://sustaindoor.googlepages.com/greendrinks or http://www.glascoffee.com.
