Hoffman’s Book Recounts Life in Faraway Places

After a long teaching career in Appleton, Carol Hoffman took the unusual step of living and working in five countries before she retired – a tale she chronicles in Twelve Years Overseas: An Educator’s Journey Across the Globe.

By describing her experiences with handmade carpets and ancient ruins in Turkey, camels and war in Kuwait, the bitter cold and stoic resolve of the people of Belarus, wineries and gelato in Italy, and the ancient monasteries and vibrant city life of Armenia, Hoffman takes readers along as she adapts to each culture.

Hoffman will read excerpts from her book – available at local outlets and – during a launch event July 22, 4 pm, at Write On, Door County, 4210 Juddville Road in Fish Creek.
