If You Give a Family Some Fun Stories at Crossroads

The Family Centers of Door County invite children and adults to share their love of reading at “If you Give a Family some Fun Stories…” being held at Crossroads at Big Creek on Wednesday, March 31. Two sessions will be offered, and children must be accompanied by an adult who will work and play alongside the child.

There’s a fun, read aloud presentation by Diane Slivka, Sturgeon Bay Elementary School teacher. From 10 – 11:30 am children age four, five and six will participate in a shared reading of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff followed by puppet making, a cookie estimation activity, and creating a yummy snack.

From 1 – 2:30 pm children age seven, eight and nine years old will read The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter, make a puppet, learn about the author, and have the rabbit’s favorite snack while watching the movie version of the story.

Space is limited to 20 children per session and pre-registration is required. There is no cost to attend due to sponsorship by Altrusa of Door County. Register by calling the Family Centers 920.825.1430 or sign up online through the website http://www.doorcountyfamilycenters.com.
