Initiative to Reduce Illegal Tobacco-Product Sales

Wisconsin WINS is a science-based initiative designed to reduce illegal tobacco-product sales to minors by using positive reinforcement. The coalition sends congratulatory letters to clerks who do not sell tobacco to youth and educates those who would. Retailers who sell tobacco products can train their staff at no cost at WITobaccoCheck.org.

Parents, teachers and the community need to stay informed about the latest addictive tobacco products, which are sweet and trendy and often mimic other items found in students’ backpacks.
