Interactive Art

“Milky Way over Cana Island” by Dan Eggert.

Door County photographer Dan Eggert announced that he is one of the artists exhibiting his work at the Angela Lensch Gallery, located at 7653 Hwy 42 in Egg Harbor. In addition to his ongoing work at the gallery, Eggert will be on-site for a special event on July 19 from 10 am to 5 pm. During this time, he will answer questions, discussing his process and helping with customers with custom orders.

“The first time I met Angela was when I photographed her for a Door County Living magazine story in 2006. She was welding and grinding and you could feel the energy in the room,” Eggert says. “We have been friends ever since and I have always admired her art. When I heard she was opening up her own gallery, I knew I wanted in—and I’m excited to be featured in her space.”

“Sand Patterns” by Dan Eggert.

One of Eggert’s ongoing series, Particles and Waves, is currently on display at Lensch’s gallery. The series is what Eggert calls “interactive art”—aluminum prints with magnets attached—and the viewer gets to select the images and arrange however they would like.

In addition to Particles and Waves, there are other photographs that can be displayed magnetically, including selections from his Night Sky and Orchard series. Eggert will also feature several new bodies of work in the fall, along with a potential new book of images. The book would be Eggert’s first since his 2009 printing of Autumn in the Door.

Eggert’s work will be available in the Angela Lensch Gallery throughout the season. For more information on Angela’s gallery, please visit aljewelry.wordpress.com/. For more information about Eggert or to view more of his photography, visit daneggertphotography.com.
