Isadoora Theatre of Door County Presents “Waiting for Lefty”

The opening of Isadoora Theatre Company’s production of Clifford Odets’ Waiting for Lefty will take place on Friday, May 13 at the Ephraim Village Hall. Directed by Ross Dippel, the show will play May 13 – 15 and 19 – 22. Thursday through Saturday performances will begin at 7:30 pm; Sunday matinees will begin at 2 pm.

The play is set in New York City against the shadow of the great depression. The action of the play centers on a cab drivers’ union meeting where the question at hand is whether or not to strike for a living wage. Through the use of flash backs, simply played with minimal props, the audience is exposed to much of the financial, social, and economic forces affecting the lives of Odets’ characters. Odets touches on themes that are as relevant and as lively today as they were in 1935. Talkbacks with the cast and director will be held after each performance.

The Ephraim Village Hall is located at 9996 Water Street in Ephraim. Tickets for Waiting for Lefty are $14 for adults and $10 for students. For more information or to reserve tickets call 920.493.3667 or email [email protected]. Any tickets remaining will be available for purchase at the door beginning 45 minutes prior to each performance.
