Join FORI for A Day on Rock Island

On July 6, the Friends of Rock Island (FORI) invite the public to take a ride on the Washington Island ferry, motor to Jackson Harbor and take the Karfi to enjoy a day on Rock Island State Park. The Karfi runs from 10 am to 4 pm, so come early for a lighthouse tour or to hike the trails. People can also ride over on their own boats.

From 11 am to 2 pm, a lunch of burgers, brats, chips, desserts and beverages will be available for purchase near the boathouse. FORI merchandise will also be sold near the boathouse.

At noon Galynne & Markondrums will perform a free concert, and rock cairn building contests will be ongoing on the beach near the boathouse. Throughout the day, there will be a silent auction to benefit FORI in its efforts to refurbish and maintain the buildings of Rock Island.
