Lean to Landscape at Crossroads

“Landscaping 101” is the title for Door County Master Gardener lectures on April 15 and 22 at Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay.

During the first lecture, Tom Luebker will discuss how to choose plants wisely. He will use the majority of the lecture to present a palette of trees, shrubs, perennial flowers, grasses, roses and bulbs that all do well in Door County. This presentation is free and open to the public.

The Garden Workshop for Families includes four sessions on organic farming on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7:30 pm. Specific dates are April 16, 30, May 14 and 28. Pre-registration is required. For an application, click ‘Environment’ under the ‘Learning Opportunities’ tab at crossroadsatbigcreek.com.

The Collins Learning Center, located at 2041 Michigan in Sturgeon Bay, is open 2 – 4 pm and during scheduled activities. Trails are open to the public, but may be icy or water-covered, depending on the weather.
