Learn About Fire Engines

The Door County Historical Museum will host a guided tour through its Pioneer Fire Station on July 13, 10 am, when David Siegel will explain the workings of the fire engines in the collection. These include the original hand-pumper fire engine used in Sturgeon Bay, an experimental chemical engine and the earliest motorized apparatus.

Siegel has been with the Green Bay Metro Fire Department since 1997, and his book, Forces of Change, is an extensive look at the Green Bay Fire Department from 1836 to 1895.

Group size will be limited due to space considerations, so advance registration is appreciated. Call 920.743.5809 or e-mail [email protected] to reserve a spot. If there is enough interest, another tour will be offered at 11 am.
