Letter to the Editor: Thanks to 5th Quarter Foundation

Thank you is a phrase individuals use to show gratitude toward others. There are times when the phrase does not seem to hold enough weight for the situation; this is one of those times. I have been working with Casey and Nicole Rabach for nearly a year, after the idea of a middle school Fitness Zone came to fruition.

Currently, the students of Sturgeon Bay Thomas J. Walker Middle School have a very limited amount of outside activity area, share space with the staff parking lot, and have no actual playground equipment to use during their free time. With the help of many people, our school playground project committee has designed a space to include a basketball court, tennis courts, volleyball courts, playground equipment, benches, tables, an outdoor amphitheater space, and a redesigned and safer parking lot.

Many people do not realize the positive and significant impact that organizations like the 5th Quarter Foundation have on our community. Casey and Nicole have supported projects in every school district in Door County, the YMCA, and many other organizations. The 5th Quarter Foundation proceeds are used to support youth education, recreation, and women’s health throughout the area. As residents of Door County, we are very fortunate to have the Rabachs’ support and involvement in our community.

As a recent benefactor of their fishing tournament, dinner, and auction this past week, I am searching for a way to express my gratitude for their generosity. On behalf of the school district, staff, and the thousands of students that will benefit from your support, I say a very sincere thank you to Casey and Nicole Rabach of the 5th Quarter Foundation.

If you are interested in the Clipper Fitness Zone project, would like to learn more about the project, or are willing to donate to the cause please contact me at [email protected].
