Little Lake Wetland Restoration Cleanup June 17

Last fall, work on the first phase of the restoration of Little Lake in Sturgeon Bay, the construction of the engineered wetland south of the lake, was pretty much completed. On June 22, the street runoff or storm water from 260 acres east of Little Lake will be allowed to flow into the wetland. Although the north cell is full of water, the middle and south cells have wood, glass bottles and other debris that need to be cleaned up. Volunteers from the Rotary Club will be cleaning the wetland at 9 am Saturday, June 17. Additional volunteers will be appreciated to help get the job done. If you are able to help, please bring boots and gloves. Refreshments will be provided. If it is raining Saturday morning, we will reschedule the cleanup for another Saturday, possibly June 24.
