Loaves & Fishes Program Receives $1,500 Donation

Loaves & Fishes, an ecumenical community meal program, and United Water announce a $1,500 donation from United Water Care to Share to feed the hungry in the Sturgeon Bay area. The Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church created Loaves & Fishes in 2003. The sole purpose of Loaves & Fishes is to feed needy families, the working poor, elderly, disabled, and socially isolated individuals. Supported by a group of volunteers (normally 25 per meal) from local community churches, who prepare the meal, serve and clean. Meals are held at the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, 229 North 14th Ave., Sturgeon Bay, on the first, third and fourth Fridays of the month at a cost of about $400 per meal, $3.45 per person or $13,200 annually.
