Master Gardeners, Wild Ones Talks at Crossroads

Join Crossroads at Big Creek and Door County Silent Sports on Feb. 8, 9:30 am – 3:30 pm; and Feb. 9, 1-3:30 pm, for Ski for Free. Borrow, free of charge, an array of ski and snowshoe equipment in sizes to fit age three through large adults. Visit the Crossroads maintenance building, where volunteers will fit you with equipment. The Door County Master Gardeners Association will hold its first lecture of the 2020 garden education series Feb. 11, 7 pm. Kori Zawojski, owner of Sunnypoint Gardens, will share the latest and hottest garden trends during her “What’s New for 2020 Gardens” presentation: a free plant “fashion show” that’s open to the public featuring the newest varieties in annuals, perennials and shrubs.                                                                            

Wild Ones will host a lecture Feb. 13, 7 pm, when Wild Ones vice president Coggin Heeringa will present “Why Plant Natives” and discuss the ecological benefits of a native landscape. Meet in the Collins Learning Center.

The Collins Learning Center, 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay, is open weekdays, 10 am – 4 pm; weekends, 1-4 pm; and during scheduled activities. Trails are free and open to the public 24/7.
