Meeting Set for Eagle Tower Fundraising, Rebuild Update

The Friends of Peninsula State Park, in partnership with the Eagle Tower Fund Committee, will hold an update meeting Thursday, June 9, at 7 pm at the Old Town Hall in Fish Creek to update the public on efforts to fundraise for and rebuild the Eagle Tower at Peninsula State Park. The tower has been closed since May 2015 after an inspection report indicated the tower was in poor structural condition. Due to the overwhelming amount of support to bring the tower back, the Friends have formed the Eagle Tower Fund Committee, a joint committee including local community organizations, local legislators and Door County residents to work with the Department of Natural Resources in identifying the options available to rebuild the tower. Meeting topics include a summary of the project to-date, tower wood assessment process and fundraising efforts for a new structure.
