Peninsula State Park offers two spring nature walks this week. On May 10, from 10 to 11:30 am, walk a two-mile route to see sky-high bluffs of the Niagara Escarpment, to watch for trilliums and to learn park history. Eagle Trail is muddy, slippery and a difficult trail. Meet at the Eagle Tower parking lot.
The second hike, Nicolet Trail via Shanty Bay, is on May 11, 2-3 pm. Enjoy Peninsula stories while walking along a beach and forest trail. This hike has gently rolling terrain, with muddy spots. Meet at Nicolet Beach.
These programs are free and open to the public but a state park sticker is required. Bring binoculars for both hikes. For more information call Peninsula Park Headquarters at 920.868.3258 or email [email protected].
