DOOR COUNTY

City of Sturgeon Bay:  The Finance/Purchasing & Building Committee meets at 4 pm July 31.

County of Door:  The Highway Safety Commission meets at 9 am Aug. 2. The Resource Planning Committee meets at 2 pm Aug. 2.

Town of Gibraltar:  The town board meets at 7 pm Aug. 1.

Town of Jacksonport:  The town will hold an open public forum to discuss possible options for improving Lakeshore Road traffic at 9 am Aug. 11.

Town of Liberty Grove:  The town board meets at 7 pm Aug. 1.

Village of Egg Harbor:   The Parks and Public Works Committee meets at 8:30 am Aug. 1.

Village of Sister Bay:  The Marina Fest Committee meets at 6 pm Aug. 1.

KEWAUNEE COUNTY

County of Kewaunee:  Kewaunee County is merging services provided by its Zoning Department with its Land & Water Conservation Department to become more efficient. The consolidation comes as Kewaunee County is looking to hire a conservation specialist following the recent retirement of long-time employee Glenn Selner, who served as director of zoning with Kewaunee County for nearly 40 years. “Mr. Selner was a fixture in local government and he was very dedicated to his job,” said Scott Feldt, Kewaunee County Administrator. “The goal of this merger is to maximize on the experience that we already have in house with the ability to cross-train new staff.” The ideal job candidate for the new position will already have or be able to obtain licensing as a Certified Soil Tester (CST) and accreditation for inspecting Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (POWTS) as well as be able to perform duties assigned by the Director of the Land & Water Conservation Department. “This is our opportunity to boost productivity and work as an even better team that can dig deeper into environmental issues surrounding groundwater contamination,” said Davina Bonness, director of Kewaunee County Land & Water Conservation Department. Effective July 25, 2018, the Zoning Office located at the Kewaunee County Administration Center, 810 Lincoln St., Kewaunee, is now part of the Land & Water Conservation Department Office at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds, 625 3rd St., Luxemburg.
