Mystery Signing

Patricia Skalka, author of the recently released Death Stalks Door County, will sign copies of her book at Cinnamon Windmill in the Main Street Shops, Egg Harbor, on Oct. 11 from 1 to 3 pm.

Kirkus Reviews called Skalka’s novel “an atmospheric debut with enough twists to tempt puzzle aficionados.” The first in the Dave Cubiak Door County Mystery series, Skalka’s book is published by Terrace Books/University of Wisconsin Press.

Praise for the tense, atmospheric novel also comes from author Patrick Somerville, who credits Skalka with weaving “a fascinating tale that lures the reader into an intriguing mystery as the appealingly flawed Cubiak unravels the threads that link a series of apparently unconnected deaths.”

A native of Chicago who has maintained a cottage in Door County for many years, Skalka has had an award-winning non-fiction career. Her credits include staff writer for Reader’s Digest, magazine editor, freelancer, ghost writer, writing instructor and book reviewer. She has outlined four more Dave Cubiak books.
