New Door County Fair Secretary Needed

The Door County Fair Association is looking to fill the position of Door County Fair Secretary. The county fair has been a summer staple for more than 145 years. The Door County Fair Association, which consists of the entire Door County Board of Supervisors, yearly elects the Fair Board Officers. The fair officers plan and run the yearly Door County Fair, held in early August at the John Miles County Park in Sturgeon Bay.

Longtime Fair Secretary Donna Henderson will retire after the 2017 fair. Thus, there will be an opening. The position of fair secretary is a full year commitment of attending meetings that cover specific aspects of putting on a county fair. Interested parties should have a working knowledge of the county fair, be able to work as a team player, follow through on tasks and have good people skills. The selected candidate would start shadowing the current fair secretary this year. A small stipend is provided.
