New Egg Harbor Welcome Center Opens

A new Welcome Center has opened in Egg Harbor. Located in the village’s Bertschinger Community Center, the 800-square-foot facility provides comprehensive printed information about lodging, dining, activities, shops, galleries and performing arts in Egg Harbor and throughout Door County. Knowledgeable staff people are on hand to answer questions and help visitors plan their itineraries.

The center was designed to incorporate uniquely Egg Harbor elements, including a 16-foot wall sculpture by artist Randy Detjen. Wood salvaged from a 107-year-old Egg Harbor barn is featured on the front desk and ceiling soffit. A gallery area showcases work by Egg Harbor visual artists. One of the village’s “Eggy Bike” shareable bicycles is transformed into a sculptural piece when mounted on the ceiling soffit.

Visitors to the center can take advantage of new technology with an Appdroplet TV, which brings the latest social media content from local businesses directly to the center. The TV also provides weather reports and an activities calendar.

The Egg Harbor Welcome Center is located at 7860 Hwy. 42 in the Bertschinger Community Center. Hours are 10 am – 5 pm Monday through Saturday and 10 am – 3 pm Sunday.
