New Gallery Opens in Egg Harbor

Forte Gallery was opened in the spring of 2008 by Carl and Susan Hruza. With a mission to offer the highest quality of local, regional, and national art, as well as gift items, at affordable prices, the Hruzas’ have assembled an eclectic selection from fine artists and artisans.

Everyone is welcome at Forte Gallery, from the casual art admirer to the experienced collector. On hand is Gallery Curator, Terry Lundahl, who brings a wealth of local knowledge and art experience to the gallery. Lundahl has been instrumental in establishing the varied gallery theme.

“From the start we realized that Door County needed a selection of art with a more eclectic feel,” said Lundahl. “While we have retained some of the Door County tradition in our selection, we have also worked hard to create a fine art gallery with a broader appeal.”

The wide range of prices and extensive selection of gift items makes Forte Gallery an ideal stop when looking for original gift items. The Hruzas’ also plan on providing custom framing, interior design services, and varied art classes and events.

“We see our location at the Outpost as providing the perfect setting for art-themed events, not only the visual arts, but performing and culinary art too,” said Hruza.

Forte Gallery is open seven days a week throughout the season. Art at Forte includes paintings, drawings, fused and painted glassware, hand-painted silk scarves, wall hangings, jewelry, home accessories, hand-painted wall clocks, vases, ceramic pottery, wood vessels, and wood and steel sculptures. The gallery also includes art that specializes in local interest: nautical, landscapes, nature, and flowers.

Currently, Forte Gallery is accepting submissions for their new annual juried Fine Art Festival that will take place October 11-12.
