New League Starting at Alpine

The JR Shamble League will begin at Alpine Golf Course in Egg Harbor on Aug. 18. The league takes place on Thursdays at 4:30 pm.

A “shamble” is a type of golf league format in which a team of golfers selects the one best drive among them after teeing off, then all three play their own golf balls from that position into the hole. A shamble is basically played as a scramble off the tee and as regular stroke play into the hole. In this three-man shamble, the best two scores out of three will be taken for each hole.

The cost is $20, including golf and cart. Prize money will be paid for first and second place teams each night. Teams will be determined each week; it’s a great way to meet new golfers. Call 920.743.3522 to enter.
