Nickolas Butler Headlines Write On Gala

The Write On, Door County dream has become a reality thanks to the dedication of early and ongoing supporters. Join the organization to celebrate the completion of its writing center and continued growth during the Write On Gala on Thursday, Sept. 23.

The evening will start with cocktails and conversation at 5:30 pm; dinner will follow at 6:30 pm. The main event of the evening – a reading and conversation with author Nickolas Butler – will begin at 7:30 pm. Write On will also announce its premier events for 2022.

Butler was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania; raised in Eau Claire; and educated at UW-Madison and the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop. His first novel was the internationally bestselling and prize-winning Shotgun Lovesongs, which has been optioned for film development and has been translated into 10 languages. Other books include The Hearts of Men – short-listed for two of France’s most prestigious literary prizes even before being published in America – as well as Little Faith, Beneath the Bonfire, In Western Counties and newly released this year, Godspeed.
