Obituary: Evelyn L. Gay

Evelyn L. Gay, 94, of Sturgeon Bay, died at home on Jan. 11, 2018.  She was born May 11, 1923, in Lorain, Ohio to Fredrick and Louise Farschman. On January 28, 1944, she married George L. Gay. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2013.

Evelyn was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church of Sturgeon Bay and was also very active in the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include three sons, George (Brian) Gay M.D., Cambridge, WI; John Gay, Sturgeon Bay and David (Ellen) Gay, Waukesha;  3 grandchildren, Richard (Melanie) Gay, Fort Meyers, FL; Robert (Melissa) Gay, Sturgeon Bay; and Hannah (Markus) Pajumӓki, Helsenki, Finland; a brother, Fred (Dorothy) Farschman, Lorain, OH; and a sister, Carolyn Farschman, Lorain, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, Lois Gringle.

Funeral services were held Monday Jan. 15, 2018 at the United Methodist Church of Sturgeon Bay with the Rev. David Leistra officiating. Burial in Hainesville Cemetery.
