Door County manufacturers will offer tours to students and the public on Oct. 1 during Manufacturing Day, an initiative to share information about manufacturing careers, locally made products and processes used in the industry. Schools and homeschooling families countywide have received tour schedules and other information, and the public is encouraged to attend.
Manufacturing Day kicks off a monthlong celebration beginning Sept. 29 with an open house at NWTC’s Sturgeon Bay campus. Mobile Career Labs – one-stop shops to learn about and apply for jobs available in the county – will follow in Sister Bay on Sept. 30 and Sturgeon Bay on Oct. 1. The month’s events will also include an event for manufacturers, educational promotions, events for children and a special at Bridge Up Brewing: discounted beer for manufacturing employees.
