• Gibraltar/ Sevastopol soccer will play Southern Door in the first round of the WIAA soccer playoffs Oct. 13 at 4 pm. The game will be played at the Baileys Harbor Recreation Park on Summit Road just south of town.

• The Door County Visitor Bureau’s (DCVB) annual meeting is Oct. 21 at the Member Clubhouse of the Horseshoe Bay Golf Course in Egg Harbor. The meeting starts at 6 pm and will feature the unveiling of the 2010 Visitor Guide cover. The cost to attend will be $25, and an online reservation form is available on the DCVB Member Web site at http://www.doorcountyvisitorbureau.org.

• Ephraim will host a public hearing to gather comment on its comprehensive plan Oct. 12 at 7 pm at the village offices at 10005 Norway Road.

• The Door County Airport and Parks Committee will discuss the Schauer Park Harbor of Refuge and Launch Area proposal Oct. 13 at 10:30 am at the Door County Government Center in Sturgeon Bay. The committee is expected to request a formal position statement from the town on the Door County Parks Department proposal to construct a harbor of refuge at Schauer Park.

• Other upcoming county board meetings include the Social Services Committee Oct. 13 at 1:30 pm, the Resource Planning Committee Oct. 15 at 7 pm, and the Law Enforcement Committee Oct. 15 at 7:30 am.

• The Sister Bay Board of Trustees meets Oct. 13 at 6 pm. The village’s Plan Commission meeting originally scheduled for Oct. 15 has been rescheduled for Oct. 22 at 5:30 pm.

• The Egg Harbor village board meets Oct. 12 at 7 pm.
