‘Paper Thin’ Poetry at Meadows Gallery

The annual Poetry Show, titled Paper Thin and featuring Door County poets, has been installed at the Meadows Art Gallery. Included with the poetry art is a collection of pieces of origami by Nancy Akerly.

Paper Thin is the theme of the current Meadows Gallery show celebrating Poetry Month. Twenty Door County poets have submitted work highlighting the theme. Some of the poetry is incorporated into visual art as a part of the composition. Some of the poets also illustrate their written work with separate visual pieces. Some of the poems stand without a visual component.

Participating poets include Sharon Auberle, Francha Barnard, Anita Beckstrom, David Clowers, Tom Davis, Ethel Davis, Mark Davis, Ed DeMiao, Hanne Gault, Gary Jones, Barbara Larsen, and Estella Lauter, Lee LeVoy, Ralph Murre, June Nirschl, Rolf Olson, Mike Orlock, Nancy Rafal, John Redell and Judy Roy.

A public tea and reading of the poems will be held May 10 at 1:30 pm in the Meadows dining room next to the gallery.

The Meadows Gallery is proud to present both art directions in this show, which is now open. Gallery hours are 10 am to 5 pm daily. The gallery is located in the Meadows wing of Good Samaritan Scandia Retirement Village in Sister Bay. Enter under the main entrance portico and turn right ahead at the main hallway.
