Parr, Lauritsen Win Hey Hey 5k

Jackson Parr of Fish Creek and Robyn Lauritsen of Green Bay won the overall titles at the second annual Hey Hey 5k in Baileys Harbor Saturday, Sept. 24.

Parr, clad in a Wild Tomato Pizza bodysuit, finished in 17:39 to pace the men. Robyn Lauritsen took first on the women’s side with a time of 19:56, despite feeling under the weather on race morning.

In the Masters Division, Krista Eliot of Baileys Harbor took first in the women’s side with a time of 22:23, and Stuart Kolb paced the men in 19:51.

The race, sponsored by Door County Brewing Co. and organized by the Peninsula Pacers, attracted 185 runners as part of Baileys Harbor’s annual Autumnfest celebration. The 3.1-mile course was staffed by invaluable volunteers from Door County Rotary North and Shepherd of the Bay church. Each organization will receive donations from the race.

All finishers received a Hey Hey 5k pint glass, race t-shirt, and a free beer or root beer at Door County Brewing Co. View complete results at heyhey5k.com.
