Peninsula Players Theatre’s series of free public seminars continues for its seventh fall season. Free seminars, providing inside looks at topics related to Lombardi, are held select Saturdays from 2:30 – 4 pm in the rehearsal hall.

On Sept. 15, the seminar features Players veteran Neil Friedman discussing the research required to portray legendary Packers coach Vince Lombardi in Lombardi by Eric Simonson. Lombardi’s daughter, Susan, expressed that she loved Friedman in his role, and that he and the production were better than the Broadway version. Friedman will also talk about preparing for Shakespearean roles.

On Sept. 29, the seminar is “The Original Golden Girl,” with Mary Jane Sorgel. She will discuss her history with Vince Lombardi and the Packers as the original ‘Golden Girl.’

Peninsula Players Theatre is committed to providing educational programming for the community. The Players has a long history of educational initiatives including an intern program that dates back to the founding days of the Players in the 1930s. The theater continues to offer theater tours and post-show discussions as listed in the program and website.
