Photography Tour to Welcome The Chinese New Year

Brian and Jeanee Linden of The Linden Centre in China and Linden Gallery in Ellison Bay warmly invite guests to spend a special holiday with them in China – welcoming in the Chinese New Year from February 4 – 16, 2010. All one needs is a camera and suitcase to travel and experience this once-in-a-lifetime trip. This Photographic journey will take you to the breathtaking Yuanyang Rice Terraces, the sub tropic region of Xishuangbanna and then northward to the Himalayas and the Linden Centre. The group will spend the days enjoying the type of land that Ansel Adams referred to as “a place where God is ready to have somebody click the shutter.”

The Photography tour follows the fall series of Linden Centre trips which focused on Plein Air painting and the culinary traditions of China. Guests will stay in the restored Linden Centre, an expansive and luxurious courtyard home in the ancient village of Xizhou.

The Lindens have invited Doug Beasley, founder of Vision Quest Photo Workshops in Minneapolis to be the trip’s mentor. Doug is a gifted professional photographer who is able to communicate the practical as well as the more esoteric aspects of seeing through the camera lens. Doug has led photographic journeys to Japan, Norway, and Guatemala and will guide the novice or expert photographer with his signature casual style and artistic vision to create photos that stretch your mind’s eye.

The cost of the tour, including airfare, local transportation, hotels, guides, and meals is $4,500. The Lindens welcome inquiries concerning their culturally-rich excursion at Linden Gallery in Ellison Bay which is open daily 10 am – 5 pm or at their Web site, http://www.linden-centre.com.
