(Left to right) The pop-up creations of illustrators Matthew Reinhartand Robert Sabuda will be on exhibit at Miller Art Museum from Jan. 25 through April 14.

The Miller Art Museum invites families to “The Wizards of Pop,” a traveling exhibition from the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature in Abilene, Texas. Opening Jan. 25 and continuing through April 14, see examples of original art in many media and mock ups and original three dimensional construction examples of pop-ups by celebrated New York artists and paper engineers Robert Sabuda and Matthew Reinhart. Included are selections from Star Wars, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Encyclopedia Prehistorica: Dinosaurs and eight others of the pair’s most popular pop-up book designs.

Enjoy the inspired creations of Sabuda and Reinhart, then explore the activity centers throughout the gallery to enjoy creating fun pictures and cutouts of your own. Put on a pair of wings and channel your inner fairy, or decorate your own dinosaur drawing. Children attending “Wizards of Pop” should be accompanied by an adult.
