Pottery Exhibit Celebrates 35 Years

Ellison Bay Pottery opens its last exhibit of the year, “From Apprentice to Master Potter: An Artist’s Journey,” as a celebration of its 35th Anniversary. A reception will be held on October 23 from 3 – 5 pm.

The exhibit showcases John Dietrich’s early work, and the viewer can see his development as a potter searching for his “voice.” Dietrich first studied pottery at Lawrence University, and then he spent a year studying with Paul Donhauser at UW-Oshkosh. Working toward his goal of being a studio potter, Dietrich next became Abe Cohn’s assistant for six years before purchasing property in Ellison Bay where he created his own studio. The exhibit will close October 31.

Ellison Bay Pottery Studios is located at 12156 Garrett Bay Rd., Ellison Bay. For more information call 920.854.5049 or visit http://ellisonbaypottery.wordpress.com/.
