Preparation Pays Off for Boys and Girls Club

Members of the Boys and Girls Club of Door County ran seven lemonade stands on Aug. 17, raising $470 for the club.

On August 17, members of the Boys and Girls Club of Door County ran seven lemonade stands throughout Sturgeon Bay. Since June, members (ages 6 to 12) planned and practiced for the lemonade stands during the club’s summer program.

Club members took a very hands-on role; they discussed the purpose of a business plan, identified a goal (raising money for club supplies), and marketed their stands.

The planning paid off with over 430 cups of lemonade sold in 90 minutes. The final activity will be for members to collectively decide how to spend their profit, over $470.
