Realtors Take Gun-Safety Training

In partnership with Door County real estate agencies, Virlee Gunworks recently offered training to real estate agents related to firearm safety and self-defense, including deterrents, situational awareness and techniques for protecting themselves in dangerous situations.

“Real estate agents often work alone and enter unfamiliar homes and neighborhoods,” said Oscar Castillo, Virlee Gunworks manager and instructor. “We wanted to give agents the tools they need to feel confident and secure when they’re out in the field.”

According to a report from the National Association of Realtors, 33% of realtors have experienced a situation that made them fear for their personal safety or the safety of their personal information.
