Registration Opens For Festival Of Nature Events

Registration for programs opened this week for the 22nd annual Door County Festival of Nature, hosted by The Ridges Sanctuary and its community partners.

The theme of the Memorial Day-weekend festival is Community. 

Events will offer participants a chance to experience community with the natural world and throughout Door County by exploring forests, rare plants, soil and microorganisms. The slate of programs includes field trips, lectures, special events and presentations. 

Reservations are requested before May 10 for the following kickoff events:

•May 23, 4-6 pm, art exhibit and artist reception at the Cook-Albert Fuller Nature Center: “Drawing on Science” will present a deep dive into the world of scientific illustration and the role it plays in science. 

•May 24, 4:30 pm, festival dinner and keynote presentation at About Thyme Farm: Deneen Wiske – Executive Director of Auricle Productions, a nonprofit environmental journalism organization that produces Threshold, a Peabody Award-winning podcast and public radio show – will discuss the power of storytelling to deepen the community connection with the natural world.
