Retired Educators to Host Wisconsin Retirement System Seminar Dec. 7

The Door-Kewaunee Retired Educators’ Association will host a free seminar for participants of the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) on Wednesday, Dec. 7 from 6:30 – 8 pm at the Southern Door County School District Auditorium, 2073 County Road DK in Brussels. The focus will be on the Wisconsin Retirement System benefits and options. The seminar is geared to all WRS participants (whether in education or not) who are planning to retire or beginning to think about retirement. The speaker, Roger Byers, is a former benefit specialist for the Wisconsin Retirement System.

WREA, which was organized in 1951, is a statewide association of over 13,000 members. It is recognized for protecting the public pension fund and promoting public education. With a central office in Middleton, WREA maintains a strong lobbying presence by representing views of retired educators.
