Roundabouts on horizon in Sturgeon Bay

• Sturgeon Bay could see roundabouts in the city in the next few years. The City Council, county, and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation have now all approved a memo of understanding to allow roundabouts in the city. One of the roundabouts will be constructed at the intersection of Hwy 42/ 57 and Michigan Street (by the Door County YMCA), replacing the signal lights. Another will be placed at the intersection of 42/57 and Egg Harbor Road. The changes could be implemented in two – six years.

• The Door County Board of Supervisors next regular meeting begins at 9 am, Oct. 26. A special board meeting to approve the county budget will be held Monday, Nov. 1. County board meetings are held at the Door County Government Center, 421 Nebraska Street, Sturgeon Bay.

• The Door County Visitors Bureau will hold its annual meeting Wednesday, Nov. 3 at Stone Harbor Resort in Sturgeon Bay.
