Runners Set to Go Hog Wild in Sturgeon Bay

The second annual Hog Wild 5k will feature a new scenic backdrop as it moves to Downtown Sturgeon Bay’s Martin Park with the Side Pork Festival.

The race, featuring a 5k, 15k, a 15k relay and a kids run, will be staged on Memorial Drive along the shores of the Sturgeon Bay shipping canal.

The run begins at 8:30 am at Martin Park and includes a half-mile Hog Wild Kids run for ages four to nine. Runners can register by visiting http://www.hogwildrun.com to register online or download a registration form. Same day registration will be available from 7 – 8 am.

Advance registration is $20 for the 5k and 15k, $55 for the three-person 15k relay, $40 for a two-person 15k relay and $10 for the kids run. All kids run participants will receive a medal. Medals will also be given to the top three age group finishers and top 15 relay finishers.

All runners in the race, sponsored by Ministry Door County Medical Center, will receive a finishers’ medal. Kids Run is sponsored by Staudenmaier Chiropractic and Dentistry By Design. Proceeds from the run will benefit the YMCA Door Fins. Participants will also receive a T-shirt.
