‘Saving Snow’ Screening at Crossroads

The Climate Change Coalition of Door County and the League of Women Voters will present a screening of the documentary Saving Snow at Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay Jan. 9.

Saving Snow is a production of Adaptation Now, a documentary-film project focusing on communities that are dealing with the leading edge of climate change. Across the country, people who depend on winter for their livelihood are feeling the heat. On the sidelines of skiing and snowboarding, an epic struggle to reverse rising temperatures is unfolding. Ski towns and the snow-sports industry are paving the way toward a clean-energy future.

Filmed here in Wisconsin in 2017, Saving Snow documents how climate change is transforming winter recreation and highlights ways in which individuals, organizations and communities are coming to terms with these changes.

The screening begins at 7 pm and is free and open to the public. Donations are welcome.

The Climate Change Coalition of Door County is a nonpartisan organization that, through education, outreach and civil dialogue, works to increase public understanding of climate change and its impacts at home and around the world. For more information, visit climatechangedoorcounty.com.
