Science Snippet: Dementia Rates Are Falling

The rates of dementia in America are falling. People are 20 percent less likely to develop dementia now than in the 1970s. Also, the same study indicated that when people do develop dementia, they are likely to do so later in life, and the average age of dementia onset has risen from 80 to 85 years of age. (New England Journal of Medicine, 2016, Feb. 11).
