For 29 years, one thing you could count on,

behind the bar at JJ’s, Dave Johnson in the glow of the neon.
If you needed a drink, Dave cut to the chase,

bouncing in Converse, with no time to waste.
Dave pleased them all, except lovely Wanda,

for Dave always went home, to his fine lady Chandra.
Sure, he could banter and tell you a tale,

but first came a marg, a Bernie, or a pint of an ale.
He’s moving south to the Alpine, where you can see him in May,

but he’ll always be the guy that we met at JJs.
