Shout Outs and Pet Peeves

SHOUT OUTS
Is there someone or something that deserves a pat on the back or a slap on the wrist?

“Shout out to the sassy Scotties strutting their stuff in the Door!” ~ Jennifer Moeller

“Shout out to the little old man I see walking across the street to get his mail each day on my way to work. Each step you take exudes a story!” ~ Anonymous

PET PEEVES
Is there something that really irks you, gets your goat, rubs you the wrong way, drives you up the wall, gets you bent out of shape, puts a stick in your craw, or makes you want to throw in the towel?

“Sloppy proofreading! In the current (May 27) Pulse, on page 9 of the Art & Literature section, there is an article about an exhibit of the work of Karon Winzenz. In that article, reference is made in the fourth paragraph to a slide-talk on “Wednesday, June 16.” This raises the question is Karon’s talk actually on Wednesday, June 15? Thursday, June 16? Or is it actually in another year altogether when June 16 falls on a Wednesday? This happens too frequently in our print media!” ~ Gail Jacobs

“Fish that eat worms off your hook…and get away!” ~ Sally Slattery

“People who don’t listen. I’m not talking to hear myself talk!” ~ Anonymous
