Ski the Door

The second annual Ski the Door will take place Feb. 4 – 5. At each location, the ski will last about 60 – 90 minutes.

Ski the Door will begin Feb. 4 at 9 am. Participants will meet in Newport State Park in the farthest parking lot. Trails are for classic diagonal skiing. Participates will then head to Fish Creek for coffee or a late breakfast.

At noon, skiers will start out near Fish Creek Town Dock and ski across the ice into Peninsula State Park. Skiers must have either a $4 day pass or $20 season pass to the park. The trails will accommodate either classic diagonal skiing or skate skiing.

At 3 pm, skiers will meet at the Lodge in Whitefish Dunes State Park. Trails are for classic diagonal skiing.

Feb. 5, skiers will meet at 9:30 am at the warming shelter and ski trailhead in Potawatomi State Park. Trails will accommodate either diagonal skiing or skate skiing.

At noon, skiers will meet at the lodge at Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay. Trails will accommodate either diagonal skiing or skate skiing.

Those planning to participate are encouraged to email [email protected]. Reservations are not required.

Ski the Door is an unofficial gathering of ski enthusiasts. Members of the Door County Silent Sports Alliance are organizing the event, but the event is not officially sponsored by any organization.
