Southern Door Students Join Legislative Days Team

Six Southern Door students – Alejandro Gonzales, Natalee Jandrin, Hunter Malvitz, Greta Gutschow, Kaylee Griep and Lane Aleson – answered the call from the Door/Kewaunee Legislative Days’ delegation team when it sought youth to join the team

The event was a great way for area students to get involved with some of the decision-making that goes on in the Wisconsin Legislature. This year’s issues included broadband, water quality, room tax, child care, the Knowles-Nelson Program and the medical cost of nitrate contamination.

The students said it was an eye-opening experience that broadened their perspectives on their communities. They said that talking with the Wisconsin state representatives and senators was a great opportunity, and they strongly encourage other students to take part in future Legislative Days.
