St. Lukes’ Youth Donates to DCHS

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church sets aside a portion of their budget each year for giving globally, regionally and locally. This Christmas, their outreach ministry, along with the youth of the church, decided to give a donation to the Door County Humane Society (DCHS). The youth wrote and decorated a letter expressing their thanks for all DCHS does to give animals another chance at a good home and life. They presented the check to Marilyn Jensen, DCHS board president, who expressed her gratitude: “The one thing that I would like to stress as president of the board of directors is that when we see young people in our Door County community thinking forward and charity-minded at such a young age it makes a huge impact not only on the Door County Humane Society but the community at large. Benevolence at any age can be infectious and as we see the growing need in Door County for homeless animals and when a donation like this comes from the very heart of these young girls others want to get on the bandwagon and make a difference as well. We thank the St Luke’s Outreach Committee for remembering the dogs and cats that are waiting to be adopted and move into their forever homes, and thank them for all that they do for the Door County community!”
