Start July 4th with a Run

Start Independence Day with the Hairpin 5K Run/Walk, taking place July 4 at 8 am in Fish Creek. The proceeds benefit Gibraltar Area School through the Friends of Gibraltar school enrichment and experiential learning projects. The new starting time of 8 am allows runners and families more time to enjoy other festive holiday plans.

This event is for runners and walkers of all ages, and is capped at 1,400 participants. Timing chips for runners are limited to 1,100; walkers are not timed.

The race begins at the Baylake Bank, 9405 Hwy 42, Fish Creek. The water station is located near mile two. Strollers are allowed; however dogs and bikes are not allowed.

Race-day registration will take place at the Gibraltar Town Hall from 6:30-7:30 am. Timing chips are limited and may not be available on race day morning. If timing chips are no longer available, runners and walkers may still sign up to participate, but will not be timed. The fee to register on race day is $35 (10 & up) and $15 (9 & under).

An awards ceremony will be held at the Gibraltar Town Hall at 9:15 am. Trophies, created by Off the Wheel Pottery in Egg Harbor, will be awarded to the overall male/female winners and top male/female master runners. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in age group divisions. For complete information visit hairpinrun.com.
